Centre Manager

Description:
This position will lead their site to achieve organizational excellence by developing a staffing team that is nurturing and supportive to all children, families, each other and the community. This position represents the company at the school they work with so ensuring professionalism at all times. The Play Centre Manager oversees the daily operations of the before and after school care program and works closely as a team member with the other sites, Program Mentor Support Team, Area Manager and Executive Management Team.

Accountabilities:
The Play Centre Manager at Calgary Child’s Play is accountable to the Play Mentor Support Team and the Area Manager. They are also accountable to the organizations Mission and Philosophy statements.

Key Duties:
• Develop, implement and evaluate multi age programs that challenge children’s learning, supports child development and guides children’s behaivour. This will be done by role modelling professionalism, building meaningful relationships with children, staff and families and creating a safe and engaging environment.
• Create an age and developmentally appropriate environment for all children that is respectful of children’s strengths and needs.
• Supports and addresses staff training, staff engagement and staff behaivour by being involved in the hiring process, evaluations training, staff meetings.
• Ensuring all administrative duties are done with accuracy and within the time frames required by the organization.

Skills and qualifications:
• Minimum of a CDW (Level 2) , CDS (Level 3) preferred
• Current First Aid with CPR
• Criminal Record check which includes vulnerable sector search
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a child care setting
• Strong interpersonal skills and approachable
• Strong Composure
• Strong communication skills
• Organized and have a strength and attention to detail with administrative tasks
• Sensitivity and understanding towards the diverse individual and cultural needs of families
• Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job

Playworker

Description:
To assist the effective management of the day to day running of our Calgary Child’s Play program, making certain that all children attending receive optimal care at all times with a focus on a safe and secure environment, delivered through a structured well balanced program.

Accountabilities:
The Play Worker at Calgary Child’s Play is accountable to the Site Manager, Play Mentor, support team and Area Manager. This position required you to build relationships with peers, families, children and leadership team and to actively supervise and engage the children in the program.

Key Duties:
• Build meaningful relationships with the children in the program by actively supervising and engaging children with play opportunities.
• Be part of a professional team that is guided by the organizations mission, philosophy, policy and procedure.
• Be prepared to do any tasks required for indoor and outdoor activities
• Implement all program planning activities in a fun and engaging manner.
